Weekly Response #2 Angel Hall Auditorium A

I chose to do my drawing on Angel Hall Auditorium A because when I think of the quintessential college learning environment, I think of a big lecture hall. I really enjoy this space and have had multiple classes in this auditorium. The space is constructed in order to keep the student focused on the lecturer and the focal point of the room. The room is shaped like a trapezoid. The architect who constructed the auditorium made sure to include many acoustic features and I think the fixtures on the walls provide a hard materiality to the space. The walls have places where it is jagged and pockets of extended surfaces outside the frame of the room. Overall, I had a great time drawing the space and I am shocked that I could produce the drawing above, when I still have trouble coloring inside the lines!
